NORTH CAROLINA DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Break the Majority initiative is a partnership between the North Carolina Democratic Party and Governor Roy Cooper. It is an unprecedented effort designed to break the Republican super-majority in the North Carolina General Assembly and unlock the Governor's veto powers. The Darryl Moss for NC House campaign is proud to be one of the campaigns selected by Gov. Cooper and featured in the Break the Majority effort.
NORTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATORS
The North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) is a professional association for public school employees formed in 1970 by the merger of the North Carolina Education Association with the North Carolina Teachers Association. Since North Carolina prohibits collective bargaining by public employees, the NCAE works as a professional development and advocacy organization. It is affiliated with the National Education Association. The organization has nearly 60,000 members.
STATE EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION OF NORTH CAROLINA
The State Employees Association of North Carolina, SEIU Local 2008 serves 55,000 members, and is the South’s leading state employees’ association. SEANC works to gain respect in the legislature for hardworking state employees and valuable retirees who dedicated their careers to state service.
Through legislative efforts, the Employees Political Action Committee and grassroots efforts by its members protect and improve benefits like pay, health care, retirement security and workplace rights. SEANC is committed to protecting and enhancing the rights and benefits of current, retired and future state employees.
For nearly 50 years, the NC League of Conservation Voters staff and board have been working on environment issues ranging from nuclear power plants to land conservation, pollution prevention to transportation, air to water, and many more. We have fought these battles in the media, in the courtroom, before state Boards and Commissions, and at the General Assembly. We have been lawyers, citizens, teachers, parents, and lobbyists.
But, after more than 30 years, we came to a very important conclusion: no matter how effective an advocate you are, no matter how good your lobbyist is, it doesn’t matter very much if the decision-makers you are trying to move don’t care about your issues.
AMERICAN FEDERATION OF LABOR AND CONGRESS OF INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATIONS
The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) works tirelessly to improve the lives of working people. A federation of 55 national and international labor unions, the organization represents 12.5 million working men and women. The AFL-CIO strives to ensure all working people are treated fairly and advocates for family-supporting wages and benefits and the ability to retire with dignity. AFL-CIO advances legislation to create good jobs; advocates for strengthening Social Security and private pensions, fair tax policies, and high-quality, affordable health care; and fights to keep good jobs at home. The organization helps make safe, equitable workplaces and give working people a collective voice to address workplace injustices without the fear of retaliation.
NORTH CAROLINA POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION
The North Carolina Police Benevolent Association (NCPBA), the largest law enforcement association representing officers in North Carolina. It is a part of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, Inc., which is composed of more than 32,000 law enforcement officers employed by federal, state, county and municipal governments. This professional association, funded by membership dues and citizen contributions, provides legal, disciplinary and other representation to officers who are members. The Southern States Police Benevolent Association is "The Voice of Law Enforcement Officers.
NC SIERRA CLUB
The Sierra Club is an environmental organization in the United States. It was founded on May 28, 1892, in San Francisco, California, by preservationist John Muir, who became its first president. The North Carolina Chapter of the Sierra Club advocates across the state from the mountains to the coast, and in our capitol, for a clean, healthy North Carolina. The chapter has more than 90,000 members and supporters and 12 local groups across the state.
